Founders

Unseen Faces Foundation was established in 2017 by Martina Gladney as a dedication to her parents and to those who are vulnerable and displaces.

In the mid 1950's, her parents Hattie & W.H. Gladney were Housing Providers and opened their first facility in 1972.  The Gladney's housed veterans, families, and friends who were displaced and to those who were looking for better housing opportunities.  Eventually, the housing facility became known as Hattie's House, named for the actual locations and name of the homeowners. Helping others was a value that the Gladney's passed down to their children although, Mr. and Mrs. Gladney are no longer with us, but their legacy lives on through their daughter Martina Gladney who is the Founder of Unseen Faces Foundation. Martina opened her first home in Perris, California, and now she has 3 location in the City of Los Angeles housing those who are displaced, vulnerable and homeless.

Director

Martina Gladney is Founder and President of Unseen Faces Foundation. Her self proclaimed mission is to keep hope alive and housing available! Motivated by the goal to reduce the staggering number of homeless people in L.A. County, Martina believes, following in the footsteps of her parents, that her mission and calling is to help provide housing and resources for people who make up forgotten communities in Los Angeles.

Resources

In addition to shared housing units, Unseen Faces Foundation  provides resources to the disadvantaged and under served in Los Angeles. Some of the resources we provide include: housing, food giveaways, clothing giveaways, job search assistance, ESL classes.

background

Unseen Faces Foundation (UFFINC) is the newest division of Hattie’s House, a 30 year family venture that has helped provide meals, clothing, and housing for forgotten segments of Los Angeles’ homeless community. Led by Martina Gladney, UFFINC is taking bold new steps to carry on a legacy of service which has become synonymous with the Gladney family name.

UFFINC represents the realization of the mission statement for Hattie’s House: To help feed, clothe, and house the impoverished people in traditionally under served communities of Los Angeles.

Martina has worked tirelessly to bring Unseen Faces Foundation to fruition. During COVID-19 she continues to house those who are most vulnerable. The concept includes temporary and permanent supportive housing for individuals who are displaced and/or homeless. UFFINC will provide a shared clean environment. The house is fully furnished, equipped with all appliances and Wi-Fi ready. Some residence may require a meal plan, supportive services, and job readiness training we provide all this on-site.
